Classic Readers:

Independent Reading Program

The books that help you most are those which make you think that most. A great book that comes from a great thinker is a ship of thought, deep freighted with truth and beauty.

Each month, one to two Classic books will be assigned for independent reading. These Classic books are available in our classroom for check-out. For each required book, you will need to fill out a “Classic Reader” book form and have a reading conference with Mrs. Taylor. You may also read additional classics to move higher up on the reading chart below, but remember, you must complete a form for each one. Only Classic books you have not read before count toward this project. Everyone is required to read at least 20 minutes four nights a week

as homework for Language Arts FOCUS.

We will have a special ceremony at the end of the year to celebrate our reading!
