Mission Statement
It is my mission to provide all students with a quality art education by
providing opportunities to learn about, experiment with, and explore their world.
Process-oriented learning, in which students can learn a skill or procedure
and then transfer that knowledge to other applications, is an important part
of my teaching. My role as a teacher is to inspire students to continue
learning and exploring after they leave my class, through a variety of
mediums. The medium I use primarily is art. My love of art dates back to my
early childhood and I have a strong desire to share the enthusiasm and
passion I feel for art, with children. I want to get students to take
risks with their art, experiment with new skills, and think "outside the
box" in new and original ways. I want them to learn that often
times, despite what they may learn in school, there is no one right
way of doing things. I want my students to be creative problem solvers
because those kinds of people are the ones who can make a positive change in
the world. My primary mission in education is for my students to
experiment and explore the world with a sense of wonder, creativity, and fun,
so that they, too, can find their life's passion. |
